Job summary

Crookhey Hall School is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team on a maternity-cover contract. You’ll support pupils with learning access, build confidence and help create a nurturing classroom environment near Lancaster.

Working with teachers and therapists, you’ll help pupils achieve individual goals, promote independence and contribute to safe, inclusive learning. UK applicants only – no sponsorship available.

Qualifications

• Hold GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent).
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience with children or young people is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a one-to-one basis, in small groups and within the classroom to help them access learning and achieve their goals.
• Deliver engaging, personalised learning experiences alongside teachers.
• Encourage pupils' confidence, communication, independence and emotional wellbeing.
• Build positive relationships to help pupils feel safe and ready to learn.
• Prepare learning resources and support a creative, inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and contribute to individual learning plans as appropriate.
• Support educational visits and transport pupils where required to enhance learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists and families to achieve the best outcomes.

• Holds GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent).
• Holds a Full UK Driving Licence.

Experience working with children or young people is desirable, but not essential. If you have transferable skills from education, care, youth work, residential care, coaching or support work and a genuine passion for making a difference, we'll provide the training and support you need to succeed.
