Job summary

Education People is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Highbridge for a 1:1 role supporting a Reception child with ASD. Full-time hours 08:30-15:30, salary £90-£110 per day, start September 2026.

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies, support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation, and create a calm, safe, and engaging learning environment that helps the child thrive.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with ASD or additional needs in a primary or Early Years setting
  • Patient, consistent and nurturing in approach
  • Good understanding of supporting children with communication and sensory needs
  • Works well as part of a team and takes initiative when needed
  • Holds (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service

Learning Support Assistant / LSA - Highbridge

Location: Highbridge

Hours: Full-time | 08:30 - 15:30 (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £90 - £110 per day

Start: September 2026

We are currently seeking a dedicated and nurturing Learning Support Assistant / LSA to join a welcoming primary school in Highbridge.

This is a full-time, 1:1 role supporting a child in Reception with Autism (ASD). You will play a key role in helping the child access learning, develop socially and emotionally, and feel safe and supported throughout the school day within a caring and inclusive environment.

The school has a strong reputation within the local community and prides itself on its warm, supportive ethos. Staff work collaboratively to create a positive and structured environment where every child is given the opportunity to thrive.

The Role:
  • 1:1 Learning Support Assistant supporting a child in Reception with ASD
  • Providing tailored support to meet the child's individual needs
