Job summary

Education People is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Highbridge. This 1:1 role supports a Reception child with ASD, helping access learning, develop socially and emotionally, and feel safe throughout the day.

You will work with the class teacher and SENCO to implement routines, supporting communication and emotional regulation in a calm, inclusive setting. Starts September 2026, full-time, £90–£110 per day.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with ASD or additional needs, ideally in a primary or Early Years setting.
  • Patient, consistent and nurturing in their approach.
  • Good understanding of supporting children with communication and sensory needs.
  • Works well as part of a team and takes initiative when needed.
  • Hold(s) (or is willing to obtain) an enhanced DBS on the update service.

Location: Highbridge

Hours: Full-time | 08:30 – 15:30 (Monday to Friday)

Salary: £90 – £110 per day

Start: September 2026

We are currently seeking a dedicated and nurturing Learning Support Assistant / LSA to join a welcoming primary school in Highbridge.

This is a full‑time, 1:1 role supporting a child in Reception with Autism (ASD). You will play a key role in helping the child access learning, develop socially and emotionally, and feel safe and supported throughout the school day within a caring and inclusive environment.

The school has a strong reputation within the local community and prides itself on its warm, supportive ethos. Staff work collaboratively to create a positive and structured environment where every child is given the opportunity to thrive.

The Role:
  • 1:1 Learning Support Assistant supporting a child in Reception with ASD
