Job summary

Remedy Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a well-established SEN school in Enfield, North London. You will support pupils 1:1 and in small groups, assisting teachers with engaging, differentiated lessons and helping with communication, social and academic development.

The role involves implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour, using visual resources and sensory activities, and working with therapists and the wider team.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in SEN settings.
  • Ability to support communication, social and academic development.
  • Patient, caring and resilient approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service (or willing to obtain one).

Location: Enfield, North London

Job Type: Full-time, Long-term

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Learning Support Assistant - SEN School

Remedy Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a well-established specialist SEN school in Enfield.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Speech and Language needs, and complex learning needs. The school provides a supportive and nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

The Role
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups across the school.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Support pupils with their communication, social, emotional and academic development.
  • Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation.
  • Use visual resources, sensory activities and communication aids where appropriate.
  • Encourage pupils' independence and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
  • Assist with personal care where required (training provided if necessary).
The Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Care Worker or Support Worker.
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, particularly Autism, ADHD, SEMH or complex needs.
  • A patient, caring and resilient approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain one).
