Job summary

Prospero Teaching are working with a warm and welcoming SEN school in Maidstone, seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their outstanding team.

You will support pupils aged 4-18 with complex needs, including autism and SEMH, delivering tailored learning and ensuring each child is supported academically and emotionally. DBS check required or pending.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN in a school setting.
  • Demonstrates patience, resilience and compassion.
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and understanding of child protection.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support in and out of class.
  • Implement personalised learning and behaviour plans.
  • Support pupils with communication, regulation, and engagement.
  • Promote a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists and parents.

Learning Support Assistant - SEN School

Start Date: September

Full-Time | Term-Time Only

£95 - £120 per day (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs?

We are working in partnership with a warm and welcoming SEN school and they are currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to join their outstanding team.

About the Role:

As an LSA, you will support students aged 4-18 with a range of complex needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored learning and ensure every child is supported to reach their full potential - both academically and emotionally.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support in and out of the classroom
  • Implement personalised learning and behaviour plans
  • Support students with communication, regulation, and engagement
  • Promote a nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and parents
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Has experience working with children with SEN (in a school setting)
  • Is patient, resilient, and compassionate
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one
