Job summary

GSL Education Newcastle Branch is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to help pupils overcome learning challenges and participate confidently in the classroom.

You will work closely with teachers to provide practical and academic support, and help pupils access classroom learning with patience and organisation. DBS checks are required; DBS update service preferred.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people in education or similar setting.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills when working with pupils and staff.
  • Patient, observant and organised approach to classroom support.
  • Ability to respond to different learning styles and individual needs.
  • Commitment to promoting equal access to learning and pupil wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Strengthen key learning concepts with young learners who need additional guidance during lessons.
  • Coordinate small-group activities to address specific areas of learning.
  • Break down tasks into manageable steps to improve pupil understanding.

Pay Rate: £90 - £120 per day (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education Newcastle Branch are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work with fabulous schools in Newcastle. This position is suited to individuals who enjoy providing practical and academic support who may require additional help with their learning. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you will contribute to an inclusive environment where pupils feel encouraged to participate, progress, and achieve.

The Learning Support Assistant provides targeted assistance that helps childern access classroom learning, strengthen essential skills, and become more independent in their education.

Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities:
