South Buckinghamshire seeks a Learning Support Assistant at a two-form entry primary school in Totteridge, High Wycombe, to support every child to be the best they can be. You will work as part of a team to plan and deliver intervention strategies, prepare materials and observe pupils across year groups.

The role includes lunch-time supervision and fostering a positive learning environment. GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 or above are essential; excellent people skills and a warm, caring

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 or above are required.
  • Experience in an educational setting is preferred but not essential.
  • An enhanced DBS check and safeguarding awareness will be required.

  • Plan and deliver a range of intervention strategies keeping records.
  • Prepare materials for use with pupils.
  • Liaise with the class teacher regarding planning and pupil progress.
  • Undertake pupil observations and provide feedback to the class teacher.
  • Work with children in small groups or individually.
  • Work as part of a team.
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policy.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of the curriculum.

Overview

The governors of this large, vibrant Primary School are seeking to appoint caring and committed Learning Support Assistants. You will need to be able to work effectively as part of a team and be willing to support every child do be the best they can be.

Salary

Range 1 Point 6 - 10 FTE £24,836 - £25,823 Actual Pro Rata Salary Range: £19,924 - £20,716

About you

The successful candidate will need to have excellent people skills and a warm and caring personality. The ability to communicate effectively with pupils and other staff will also be important.

Good levels of English and Mathematics are essential for the role and we require a Grade 4 or higher GCSE or the equivalent (e.g. Grade C or higher O-Level, CSE Grade 1) in these subjects.

You will preferably have had experience in an educational setting, however opportunities for training are available so this is not essential

Training in Read Write Inc would be an advantage as well as knowledge of working with children with speech and language disorders. This role may range from Nursery to Year 6.

This post will include lunch time supervision.
