Job summary

Outcomes First Group’s Heath Farm School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to help pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop independence within a nurturing environment. You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals to provide structured support.

The role focuses on supporting individuals and groups in lessons, delivering targeted help in reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting, and presentation, and fostering calm, inclusive classrooms.

Qualifications

  • Holds GCSEs grade C/4 or above in English and Maths
  • Has experience working with children in educational, care, or support settings (desirable but not essential)
  • Is caring, patient, and enthusiastic with a genuine desire to help vulnerable young people
  • Can adapt to varied classroom and outdoor environments with flexibility and confidence
  • Works well in a team while being able to take initiative when needed
  • Holds a full UK Driving Licence

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Heath Farm School, Ashford, TN27 0AX

Salary: £19,205.87 per annum (£13.25 per hour) (not pro rata)

Hours: 32.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Start: September 2026

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and personal development. Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other professionals, you will help pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop independence within a nurturing, inclusive environment. You will:

  • Support individual pupils and small groups to engage with lessons and tasks
  • Clarify and explain instructions, learning activities, and use of resources

About You
