Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in Loudwater. You will provide targeted support to pupils, work with teachers to deliver inclusive lessons and promote learning progress in a caring environment.

Key responsibilities include small-group support, adapting activities, safeguarding, and collaboration with SENCOs and parents. A current enhanced DBS (Update Service) or willingness to obtain one is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children or young people in educational, care, or support settings is desirable.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are essential.
• A patient, caring and supportive approach to working with children.
• Ability to build positive relationships and encourage independence.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group support to pupils to access the curriculum and make progress.
• Work with the class teacher to support engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Explain tasks, reinforce key concepts and encourage independent learning.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual learning needs.
• Support literacy, numeracy and other curriculum areas as required.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and engagement in learning.
• Monitor and report pupils' progress, wellbeing and behaviour to the class teacher and SENCO.
