Job summary

Supply Desk is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a welcoming primary school in the Radlett area. You will support pupils with learning across the primary age range and work closely with class teachers to help deliver engaging lessons.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, assisting with curriculum access and adapting approaches to individual needs while promoting independence and positive attitudes to learning.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a primary school or educational setting (preferred).
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, caring and nurturing approach.
• Positive behaviour management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
• Knowledge of safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils across the primary age range with their learning and development.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support as required.
• Assist pupils with accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities.
• Work alongside the class teacher to support lesson delivery and learning activities.
• Encourage pupils to develop independence, confidence and positive attitudes towards learning.
• Support pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development.
• Help pupils overcome barriers to learning and engage positively in school life.
• Monitor and communicate pupil progress and wellbeing to the class teacher and relevant staff.
• Adapt support approaches to meet individual pupil needs and learning styles.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents/carers and other professionals where appropriate.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
