Job summary

Farndon Fields Primary School in Market Harborough is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support learning and wellbeing within a dedicated teaching team. The role involves preparing and delivering engaging lessons, assisting pupils individually and in small groups, and providing feedback on progress.

The position is fixed term, 32.5 hours per week for 39 weeks per year, with a Grade 5 pay point and an approximate starting salary of £18,931, rising towards £25,190–£25,590 as pay awards

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) OR ability to meet STL Level 2 National Occupational Standards.
• Experience supporting teaching and learning in a school setting.
• Understanding of child protection and health & safety procedures; strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to motivate and engage students.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in preparing and delivering engaging lessons.
• Assist individuals and small groups with learning activities.
• Provide feedback on pupil engagement and progress.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development.
• Prepare and use learning materials, including ICT resources.
• Help create stimulating classroom displays.
