Job summary

Gloucestershire College seeks Learning Support Workers to assist learners across four campuses. You will support, monitor and guide progress, keeping records and sharing information with staff, families and external partners.

You will use support plans, EHCPs and learner profiles to tailor practice, promote independence and effective learning strategies, while contributing to team meetings and college events.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEND learners, ideally in a specialist or post-16 setting.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade C/Level 2, or willingness to work towards them.
• Practical safeguarding experience in an education or support environment.

Responsibilities

• Support learners under the guidance of the Inclusion Team to progress and grow in confidence across learning environments.
• Keep accurate records and share key information with staff, families and external partners.
• Help learners settle into college through transitions activities and use support plans/EHCPs/learner profiles to guide practice.
• Encourage independence, explore effective learning strategies and contribute to team meetings, training and college events.
• Follow SEND guidance, safeguarding expectations and college standards to ensure high quality, consistent support.
