Job summary

Long Term Futures is seeking Learning Support Assistants in Gloucestershire to support learners with EHCPs across multiple FE sites. Roles are full-time and part-time, with flexible hours to cover gaps in the support team. You will provide 1:1 and classroom assistance, scaffolding tasks and supporting maths, English and PSHE to promote independence.

ASAP start; successful applicants will be DBS checked and undergo safer recruitment procedures in line with the college requirements.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths, or equivalent
• Previous experience supporting young people with SEND, additional needs or behavioural needs
• A patient, supportive and adaptable approach to working with young people
• Confident supporting learners within a classroom and wider college environment
• Reliable and flexible, with the ability to cover varying hours depending on the needs of the provision
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and supporting positive outcomes for young people

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and classroom-based support for learners with EHCPs and additional needs
• Prompt and scaffold tasks to help learners understand instructions and complete their work
• Support learners across subjects including Maths, English and PSHE
• Accompany learners between lessons and provide break or lunchtime support where required
• Support positive behaviour, engagement and independence throughout the college day
• Work closely with teaching and support staff to ensure learners receive consistent support

The Opportunity
Long Term Futures are looking to appoint reliable and flexible Learning Support Assistants to support learners across several Further Education sites in Gloucestershire. These are fulltime and part-time, ongoing positions covering gaps within the existing support team, with hours varying depending on the needs of each site. You will support learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) across a range of lessons, providing prompting, encouragement and appropriate scaffolding to help them engage with learning and develop greater independence.

• Provide 1:1 and classroom-based support for learners with EHCPs and additional needs
• Prompt and scaffold tasks to help learners understand instructions and complete their work
• Support learners across subjects including Maths, English and PSHE
