Job summary

South Ayrshire Council is recruiting to relieve teachers of non-teaching duties, including classroom administration and the preparation of teaching materials. You will support the learning activities of children under the direction of the classroom teacher and other colleagues.

The role involves supporting pupils with additional support needs, including physical difficulties and challenging behaviour. The post requires PVG membership or an update if already registered, and PVG costs may apply.

Qualifications

• This post is Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults as specified in the PVG Act 2007.
• Candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update prior to any formal offer.
• Please note PVG costs may be applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support the learning activities of children under the direction of the classroom teacher / Principal Teacher and other colleagues.
• Support pupils with additional support needs of a wide nature which include physical difficulties and challenging behaviour.
