South Ayrshire Council in Ayr is seeking a dedicated classroom support assistant to relieve teachers of non-teaching duties and to assist in preparing teaching materials. You will support the learning activities under the guidance of teachers and help pupils with additional support needs, including physical difficulties and challenging behaviour.

Qualifications

• Regulated work with children and/or protected adults (PVG) required.
• PVG scheme membership or update required before offer.

Responsibilities

• Relieve teachers of non-teaching duties including classroom administration and practical tasks such as preparing teaching materials.
• Support learning activities under the direction of the classroom teacher/Principal Teacher and other colleagues.
• Support pupils with additional support needs of a wide nature including physical difficulties and challenging behaviour.
