Job summary

South Ayrshire Council is seeking a School Assistant (Term Time) for Barrhill Primary School. The role involves relieving teachers of non-teaching duties and assisting with classroom administration and preparation of teaching materials.

You will support learning activities under the guidance of the classroom teacher and other colleagues, and assist pupils with additional support needs, including physical difficulties and challenging behaviour.

Qualifications

• PVG scheme membership or update is required prior to offer.
• Successful candidate must be registered with the SSSC within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Relieve teachers of non-teaching duties including classroom administration and practical tasks such as preparing teaching materials.
• Support the learning activities of children under the direction of the classroom teacher/Principal Teacher and other colleagues.
• Support pupils with additional support needs of a wide nature including physical difficulties and challenging behaviour.
