Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an LSA for a Westbury school to support pupils aged 11 to 18 with additional needs. The role focuses on ASD/SEMH support, building confidence and positive engagement in learning within small, supportive classes.

The successful candidate will work on a full-time, temporary long-term basis from September, with a PAYE contract and market-leading pay rates. DBS checks and safeguarding procedures apply.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils aged 11 to 18 with additional needs.
  • Experience working with ASD and/or SEMH needs.
  • Understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans / EHCPs.
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people.
  • Patient, resilient and supportive approach.
  • Positive and adaptable attitude to supporting learning.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with ASD/SEMH and EHCPs through structured guidance and clear expectations.
  • Help pupils engage positively with their education in small classes and a supportive setting.

Job description

Job Title: LSA

Location: Westbury

Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour

Are you an experienced LSA who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs?

Do you have experience supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs?

Can you build positive relationships with young people and help them rebuild their confidence in education?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a supportive school in Westbury that works with pupils aged 11 to 18 who have experienced challenges in previous educational settings. With small class sizes and a highly supportive environment, the school focuses on rebuilding confidence, developing positive relationships with learning and helping every young person recognise their strengths.

The school is looking to take on an LSA from September on a full-time, TEMPORARY, long-term basis. The successful LSA will support pupils with an Education, Health and Care Plan / EHCP, primarily working with young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD and Social, Emotional and Mental Health / SEMH needs, providing structured guidance, clear expectations and personalised support to help them engage positively with their education.

The successful LSA will have:
  • Experience supporting young people aged 11 to 18 with additional needs
  • Experience working with ASD and/or SEMH needs
  • An understanding of Education, Health and Care Plans / EHCPs
  • The ability to build positive and professional relationships with young people
  • A patient, resilient and supportive approach
  • A positive and adaptable attitude to supporting learning
