Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a specialist SEND school in Yeovil. You will support pupils from Year 1 to Year 8 with SEMH needs, both 1:1 and in class, promoting emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour throughout the school day.

The role is full-time and temp-to-perm from September. You will join a dedicated team and help foster resilience, integrity and mutual respect while supporting pupils to develop essential life skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs.
  • Experience supporting pupils within a SEND or education setting.
  • Patient, resilient and positive attitude to behaviour support.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proactive, adaptable and enthusiastic.

Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Location: Yeovil

Start Date: September

Salary: £14.25 - £15.50 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND school in Yeovil that supports pupils from Year 1 through to Year 8 with SEMH needs. The school is committed to building resilience, integrity and mutual respect, while nurturing personal growth, developing positive relationships and equipping pupils with the essential life skills they need to thrive.

The school is looking to appoint a full-time Learning Support Assistant on a temporary basis from September. The successful Learning Support Assistant will support pupils both on a 1:1 basis and within the classroom, helping to manage behaviour positively, encourage engagement in learning and promote the emotional wellbeing of every child throughout the school day.
