Job summary

PK Education is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant in Wakefield for a position supporting students in a Specialist Learning Centre and mainstream classrooms.

The role is temporary and either part-time or full-time, term-time only, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will have experience with EAL or SEND and be able to collaborate with teachers and parents to support learning.

Qualifications

• Recent experience supporting young people in an educational environment.
• Willing to work in a range of schools in the Wakefield area.
• Adhere to school policies and procedures and be willing to take lead from senior staff.

Responsibilities

• Support students in small groups and on a 121 basis in the Specialist Learning Centre and in main classrooms.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians and colleagues.
• Contribute to breaking down barriers to learning and support inclusive education.

Learning Support Assistant, Wakefield

Temporary Full time- Term time only

We are recruiting for Learning Support Assistants to work in a Secondary School in Wakefield. The role is supporting students on a small group and 121 basis, within the schools Specialist Learning Centre and within the main school classrooms.

The ideal candidate will have experience supporting older children/young people requiring EAL or SEND support in an educational environment. The role of an LSA can be extremely rewarding; successful applicants will need to be positive, flexible and able to communicate effectively with young people. You will be working together to break down any barriers to learning. You will also be confident in communicating with parents, guardians and colleagues.

Learning Support Assistant roles are initially available on a temporary part-time/full basis depending on your preference, and are working term time only, Monday to Friday.

The successful applicant will:

• Have recent experience supporting young people in an educational environment
• Be willing to work in a range of Schools in the Wakefield area
• Adhere to school policies and procedures and be willing to take lead from senior staff

• Competitive rates of pay from between £98 - £110 per day (AWR Compliant)
• On the job training provided by the school
• 24/7 support and feedback from experienced education consultants
