We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Teaching Assistants to work within secondary schools across Wakefield. These long-term positions involve supporting students on a 1:1 basis and delivering targeted small group interventions, helping young people to reach their full academic and personal potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for students with additional learning, behavioural, or emotional needs.
  • Deliver planned intervention sessions to small groups of pupils.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and achieving learning objectives.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Assist teachers in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support students' social and emotional development.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Experience working with children or young people, preferably within an educational setting.
  • A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to build rapport with secondary-aged students.
  • Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs is highly desirable.
  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths (or equivalent).
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
