Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bradford. You will work with teachers to provide high-quality support, helping pupils reach their potential in a safe, inclusive learning environment.

The role involves 30 hours per week, permanent term-time work beginning September 2026. DBS checks and safeguarding compliance are required to start. The position offers a supportive team and opportunities for development.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our welcoming primary school in Bradford. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to provide high-quality support for pupils, helping them to achieve their full potential in a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils in the classroom on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities.
  • Encourage pupils' independence, confidence and social development.
  • Support children with additional learning needs and help them access the curriculum.
  • Monitor pupils' progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, caring and flexible approach.
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
