Job summary

Windwhistle Primary School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment. A qualification is desirable but not essential as we welcome candidates from education, childcare, healthcare, and related backgrounds.

The role focuses on one-to-one support, targeted interventions, and collaboration with teachers and SEN professionals to help pupils reach their potential in a KS2 setting.

Qualifications

• Level 2/3 qualification in Education, Early Years, Childcare, Health and Social Care, or related subjects.
• Ability to support pupils one-to-one and in small groups.
• Good communication and teamwork in a school setting.

Job description

We also welcome applications from college leavers who hold a Level 2/3 qualification in Education, Early Years, Childcare, Health and Social Care, or related subjects.

This is a varied and rewarding learning support assistant position working within key stage 2.

You will:

• Provide one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs.
• Deliver targeted interventions and small group support.
• Support teaching and learning within our specialist resource hub.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN professionals and support staff.
• Help pupils develop communication, social and emotional skills.

Hours: 16 hours and 15 minutes per week, Monday-Friday term time only

Contract: fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027 (with potential extension subject to external funding)

Actual Salary: £10,150.05 - £11,165.56 (depending on qualifications)
