Job description

How would you like to be paid for five days but only work four?

Our colleagues' wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do at OFG, so we're always looking for new ways to improve everyone's work/life balance. We're taking part in a trial of the 4-Day Working Week, meaning that you could be working one day less a week (or equivalent).

If the trial is a success, we'll be rolling the 4DWW out across the Group - so there's never been a more exciting time to join.

Role: Learning Support Assistant

Location: Longdon Hall School, Lichfield, Staffordshire WS15 4PT

Salary: GBP20,906.25 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our close-knit team at Longdon Hall School, part of Acorn Education.

About the Role

We are looking for experienced Learning Support Assistants to join our team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will support our teachers to take a creative approach to teaching pupils according to their educational needs, maximising achievement, and ability to develop.

This is a great opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant who is looking to start or continue their career in Education and is motivated to inspire learning in pupils with varied and complex needs. Your work will be challenging and rewarding, and you will be working in a school where safeguarding is a priority, pupils are listened to, respected, and involved in decisions.

Our focus is on quality, and we seek a Learning Support Assistant who can work with individual and small groups of pupils, prepare classrooms and materials, and build positive relationships to promote interaction and learning. Support roles include assisting in lesson planning and delivery in a creative and positive environment.

Previous experience in an SEN/ASC environment is desirable, but support skills, motivation, resilience, and personal qualities are equally important. This role suits individuals from customer-facing industries like retail, hospitality, or leisure, seeking a meaningful role that impacts pupils' lives.

We need candidates who share our vision to build futures by empowering students to be happy and successful.

Qualifications: GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English. You should be calm, engaging, resilient, enjoy teamwork, and be genuinely motivated to help pupils reach their potential.
