Job summary

Aspire People is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Redbourn, Hertfordshire, supporting pupils across primary and secondary.

You will work with staff to provide one-to-one and small-group support, help pupils engage with learning, support social and emotional development, and maintain a calm environment.

This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, with a temporary to permanent contract and ASAP start; prior SEN experience is desirable.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Redbourn, supporting pupils across both primary and secondary age groups.

The school supports children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASD) and ADHD. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils to develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to provide tailored support to pupils throughout the school day.

You will be responsible for:

• Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD and additional SEN needs.
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required.
• Helping pupils engage with learning and classroom activities.
• Supporting pupils with their social and emotional development.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining a calm learning environment.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team.
• Following individual support plans and school policies.

About You
