Job summary

Aspire People is assisting a specialist school in Redbourn, Hertfordshire to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across both primary and secondary ages. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, with a temporary-to-permanent contract and an ASAP start.

You will work with pupils with ASD/ADHD and other SEN needs, providing one-to-one and small-group support, helping them engage with learning, and aiding social and emotional development.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEN, ASD or ADHD is desirable.
• Able to work within a specialist SEN environment.
• Reliable, punctual and professional.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD and additional SEN needs.
• Providing one-to-one and small-group support where required.
• Helping pupils engage with learning and classroom activities.
• Supporting pupils with their social and emotional development.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and maintaining a calm learning environment.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team.
• Following individual support plans and school policies.
