1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant - Supporting Progress Beyond the Classroom
Location: Knowsley, Merseyside
Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term
Start Date: ASAP
For some children with additional needs, the school day can present challenges that other pupils may never notice.
A busy corridor might feel overwhelming. A change in timetable could create anxiety. Following instructions, communicating with classmates or moving between activities may require additional support.
Having someone who understands these challenges can transform a child's experience of education.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with an immediate start, ideal for someone that enjoys building meaningful relationships and helping children develop the skills needed to participate confidently in school life.
The pupil you support may have needs associated with:

One of the most rewarding aspects of one-to-one SEND support is seeing a pupil begin to manage situations they previously found difficult.
It might be independently organising their belongings.
Asking for help rather than becoming frustrated.
Joining a group activity without additional reassurance.
Or successfully managing a change in routine using strategies you've helped them practise.
These everyday achievements can have a lasting impact on a child's confidence and development.
Your role is to provide the right level of support while gradually helping the pupil develop greater independence.
