Job description

Learning Support Teaching Assistant - Helping Every Child Find Their Strengths

Location: Liverpool, Merseyside

Contract: Full-Time | Long-Term

Start Date: ASAP

Every Child Has Strengths. Sometimes They Just Need Someone to Help Discover Them.

One pupil might struggle with reading but have an incredible imagination.

Another might find it difficult to concentrate in lessons but excel when learning through practical activities.

Some children may lack confidence, struggle to communicate their ideas or become frustrated when they cannot keep up with their classmates.

Every child has something they can succeed at. The challenge is finding the right way to help them get there.

We're recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Teaching Assistant to join a supportive educational setting in Liverpool, working with pupils who require additional guidance to access learning, develop independence and recognise their own abilities.

This is a full-time, long-term opportunity with an immediate start, ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with children and wants to make a meaningful contribution to their education.

Helping Children Discover What Works for Them

No two pupils learn in exactly the same way.

Some need information explained differently. Others benefit from additional time, visual resources, practical activities or encouragement to attempt something independently.

You'll work alongside classroom teachers to identify these barriers and provide the support pupils need to participate confidently in school life.

The children you support may experience:

  • Autism (ASC) - requiring adapted communication, structured routines or sensory considerations.

Small Discoveries Can Lead to Big Achievements

Imagine supporting a pupil who has always believed they are bad at maths.

Instead of repeating the same instructions, you introduce practical resources and break the activity into manageable stages.

For the first time, they understand the task.

The next day, they attempt something similar without waiting for help.

A few weeks later, they're volunteering an answer in class.

That's the impact effective learning support can have.

It's not about completing the work for a child. It's about helping them discover strategies, develop confidence and recognise what they're capable of achieving.

Could Your Experience Make a Difference?

We're interested in hearing from people who have experience supporting children, young people or individuals with additional needs.

As a Learning Support Teaching Assistant, you'll help children discover their strengths, overcome learning barriers and develop the confidence to achieve more independently.
