About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil within a mainstream classroom setting. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider staff team to ensure the child is fully supported, engaged, and able to access learning alongside their peers. You will help create a structured, nurturing environment that supports both learning and emotional development, adapting approaches to meet the child's individual needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND within a mainstream classroom
  • Work closely with the class teacher to adapt and differentiate learning activities
  • Support the child's engagement, communication, and access to learning
  • Use scaffolding and step-by-step approaches to support understanding
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies and consistent routines
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and emotional regulation
  • Support the child's inclusion within classroom and school activities
  • Help maintain a safe, supportive, and nurturing learning environment
