Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant/Behaviour Mentor to support pupils with SEMH needs in Enfield, North London. The role focuses on calm, consistent, patient support to help students re-engage with learning.

You'll work alongside teachers and pastoral staff, providing 1:1 and small-group support, and using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques to foster emotional regulation and positive behaviours.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor or Learning Support Assistant with a passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs?

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a specialist school in Enfield supporting pupils aged 11-18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. They are looking for calm, resilient and passionate staff who can build strong relationships with pupils and help them re-engage with education.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who understands that behaviour is often a form of communication and who can provide the consistency, patience and boundaries that young people need to succeed.

You don’t need to have worked in a school before if you have strong, relevant experience working with young people in another setting.

The most important thing is that you’re calm, consistent, patient and able to build genuine relationships with young people.

You'll need to be confident maintaining boundaries while also understanding that every pupil has different needs and triggers.
