Job summary

Milk Education in Derby is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for a welcoming Primary School on a long-term basis starting in September. You will support pupils one-to-one and in small groups, assisting the class teacher with engaging lessons and targeted interventions in literacy and numeracy to help students progress.

The role emphasizes wellbeing, inclusivity and positive student outcomes, including SEND support where required.

Qualifications

• Recent experience working with children or young people in a school or education setting.
• Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is advantageous.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to meet their individual learning needs.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Requirements or Skills:

• A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare or equivalent is desirable

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND is advantageous
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
