Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a secondary Newcastle school on short-term or long-term basis starting in September.

You will support pupils one-to-one and in small groups, assist with lesson planning, and help deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps in a friendly, inclusive environment.

The role offers flexible days and working hours, APSCo compliance, and opportunities for temp-to-perm progression within a supportive network.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in a school or education setting.
• Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
• Level 2 or 3 childcare/education qualification or equivalent experience.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups, responding to their individual needs

• Helping deliver catch-up sessions to close learning gaps

• Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources

• Promoting an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student feels they belong

Requirements or Skills:

• Recent experience working in a school or education setting

• Solid numeracy and literacy skills

• A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands-on experience

• Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will bedeterminedby your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
