Job summary

Milk Education is currently recruiting for a Secondary Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming school from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or LSA looking for a long-term role supporting secondary-aged students.

You will work closely with teaching staff and the school’s SEND team to provide targeted support to students across the secondary age range. This may include working 1:1, in small groups and within the classroom.

  • Experience supporting students with SEND or additional needs.
  • Confident managing behaviour and maintaining positive relationships.

The Role

You will work closely with teaching staff and the school’s SEND team to provide targeted support to students across the secondary age range. This may include working 1:1, in small groups and within the classroom.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students with additional learning needs and SEND
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Helping students access the secondary curriculum
  • Supporting positive behaviour and engagement
  • Working alongside teachers and the school’s pastoral/SEND teams
  • Building positive relationships with students and encouraging their confidence and independence
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with secondary-aged students
  • Has previous experience supporting students with SEND or additional needs
  • Is confident managing behaviour and maintaining positive relationships
  • Is patient, supportive and resilient
  • Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Is passionate about helping young people succeed

Experience with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, challenging behaviour or other additional needs would be highly desirable.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
