Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Kidderminster with an Autism Resource Base. The role is temporary, day-to-day from September 2026, supporting children with Autism/ASD, ADHD and MLD while adapting activities to meet individual needs.

You will join a supportive team with a focus on inclusive learning, building relationships with pupils and staff, and contributing to a calm, nurturing classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Autism / ASD, ADHD and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).
• Experience working with children who require additional support within a mainstream school environment.
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach to supporting learning and behaviour.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• A flexible and proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Work within the Autism Resource Base to support children with Autism/ASD, ADHD and MLD.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and encourage pupils who may find learning in a mainstream setting challenging.

The school is looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant on a temporary, day-to-day basis from September 2026. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work within the Autism Resource Base, supporting children with Autism / ASD, ADHD and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), while adapting learning activities to meet individual needs and encouraging pupils who may find learning in a mainstream setting challenging.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children with Autism / ASD, ADHD and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
• Experience working with children who require additional support within a mainstream school environment
• A calm, patient and nurturing approach to supporting learning and behaviour
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
