Job summary

Cassidy Recruitment Ltd are supporting a specialist SEN school in Tottenham to recruit enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants. You will work with primary and secondary students with learning disabilities, autism and other needs, delivering 1:1, small group and classroom support alongside teachers.

All appointments require safeguarding checks including enhanced DBS and references; multiple roles available, including full-time and part-time positions across East London.

Qualifications

SEN Teaching Assistants Wanted in Tottenham.

We are currently working with a specialist SEN school in Tottenham who are looking to recruit enthusiastic, compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their teams.

Our partner schools support primary and secondary-aged students with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and additional special educational needs.

About the Role

As an Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and other education professionals to provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs.

Roles may involve providing 1:1 support, small group support or classroom-based assistance, depending on the needs of the students and school.

Key responsibilities

• Supporting primary and secondary-aged students with learning disabilities and additional needs.
• Providing individualised 1:1 and small group support.
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and lesson delivery.
• Supporting students with autism, communication difficulties and complex needs.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
• Supporting students with emotional regulation and behaviours that may challenge.
• Helping to create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other education professionals.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN, learning disabilities or autism is desirable.
• Experience within SEN schools, mainstream education, care or support work would be beneficial.
• A patient, compassionate and understanding approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence supporting students with a range of complex needs.
• Reliability, flexibility and a positive attitude.
• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people to achieve their potential.
