Responsibilities

  • Implement and follow EHCP strategies, liaising with teachers and the SENCO to plan and review support.
  • Run literacy, numeracy and bespoke intervention sessions and record progress.
  • Help prepare and adapt classroom materials in coordination with subject teachers.
  • Build trusting relationships with students to encourage inclusion and positive behaviour.
  • Contribute to pastoral care, attend staff meetings and INSET, and take part in Health Care Plan reviews.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow safeguarding procedures at all times.

This is a role for someone who will deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group support so students with SEND make better academic progress and feel included in lessons. You will work closely with classroom teachers and the SENCO to put EHCP strategies into practice, run personalised interventions and track impact. If you enjoy building strong relationships with young people and want to join a collaborative LSA team working in modern school facilities, this role will give you day-to-day impact and clear routes for professional development.

What we're looking for
Essential

  • Ability to support learning in 1:1 and small-group settings, including literacy and numeracy work

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work well in a team

  • Commitment to the safety, welfare and inclusion of children

Desirable
  • Experience applying behaviour-support techniques

  • Experience supporting students with EHCPs or complex needs

About the team or department

You will report to the SENCO and join a supportive, collaborative LSA team across Goffs-Churchgate Academy. The team works closely with SLT, classroom teachers and pastoral staff to personalise learning for students within a smaller-than-average 11-16 school where relationships and inclusion are prioritised.
