Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Learning Support Assistant for a mainstream secondary school in Manchester. The role is full-time and long-term, starting ASAP.

You will support students with SEND, including Autism/ASD and ADHD, providing both 1:1 and small group support to help them engage with learning and develop independence in the classroom. The successful candidate will have a TA qualification (Level 2 or 3) and proven experience in a secondary school setting, with strong behaviour management

Salary: £100 - £120 per day

Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant looking for a rewarding role in a secondary school?

Do you have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly Autism (ASD) and ADHD?

The school is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment where students with a range of abilities and additional needs can thrive.

The school is looking to take on an experienced Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant will support students with additional learning needs, including Autism / ASD and ADHD, providing both 1:1 and small group support where required, helping students engage with their learning, manage their behaviour and develop independence within the classroom.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or Level 3) is desirable
• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND is essential
• Experience working with students with Autism / ASD and ADHD is highly desirable
• Experience supporting students within a mainstream secondary school environment
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach with a genuine passion for supporting young people
