Job summary

Choice Teachers is partnering with a friendly primary school in Bedford to recruit a Learning Support Assistant (Level 3) on a full-time, term-time contract. You will work closely with class teachers to deliver targeted interventions, support small groups and individual pupils with academic, social and emotional development.

The role emphasises inclusion and a safe, engaging classroom where every child can thrive.

Qualifications

• Essential qualification: NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning (RQF) or equivalent.
• Experience as Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant in a primary school.

• Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive education practices.

Learning Support Assistant (Level 3)

LOCATION: Primary School, Bedford

SALARY: £26,500 - £29,000 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) (Actual pro-rata salary for term-time hours will be confirmed upon application)

CONTRACT TYPE: Permanent / Full-Time (5 days a week, term-time only)

START DATE: As soon as possible

About the Role

Friendly and inclusive primary school in Bedford is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and qualified Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive Primary school on a full-time basis (5 days a week).

In this role, you will work closely with class teachers to deliver targeted interventions, support small groups, and assist individual pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development. You will play a vital role in fostering an inclusive classroom environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching staff in the delivery of structured learning activities across Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.
• Work collaboratively to adapt learning materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Monitor, record, and feed back on pupil progress and engagement.
• Promote positive behavior management and emotional well-being across the classroom.
• Assist in creating an engaging, safe, and stimulating learning environment.

Person Specification & Requirements

To be successful for this Level 3 position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Essential Qualification: You must hold the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning (RQF) (or a recognized equivalent Level 3 vocational teaching assistant qualification).
• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant within a primary school setting.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• A firm understanding of child safeguarding, confidentiality, and inclusive education practices.
• Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning journeys.
