Job Title: Learning Support Assistant – Resource Base (1:1 Support)
Location: Nailsea
Start Date: Immediate Start
Salary: £85 – £95 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

TeacherActive is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in Nailsea, which is seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated Resource Base team. This is a long-term, full-time role starting immediately, supporting students on a 1:1 basis with a variety of learning and emotional needs.

The Resource Base provides tailored, small-group and individualised support to students who benefit from a quieter, more structured learning environment within the mainstream school. The successful candidate will play a key role in building trust, encouraging progress, and supporting students with their learning, communication, and emotional regulation.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will:

Have experience working with young people with SEND, particularly in a 1:1 or small-group setting

Be patient, empathetic, and confident in managing behaviour calmly and effectively

Have a strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusion, and the needs of students with EHCPs

Be able to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers

Ideally have previous experience in a school, PRU, or alternative provision
