Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Learning Support Assistant in Taunton to support pupils aged 8 to 19 with SEMH needs. The role involves 1:1 support, small group work and classroom assistance within a specialist education setting.

Start Date: September. Salary sits at £14.25–£15.50 per hour via PAYE. The environment is described as welcoming, happy and safe, with a focus on therapeutic education and pupil wellbeing.

Learning Support Assistant

We work with a small specialist education setting in Taunton, offering a welcoming, happy and safe learning environment where every child is valued, achievements are celebrated, and pupils are supported to become confident, responsible and independent learners through a therapeutic approach to education.

In this role you will support pupils aged 8 to 19 with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, working on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and within the classroom to promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement in learning.
