Job summary

The University of Kent is recruiting a Learning Environment Assistant to help maintain welcoming library and study spaces, support access to physical and digital collections, and deliver a professional, inclusive service to students, staff and visitors.

You will work with the Learning Environment team to ensure spaces are well-equipped, regulations are followed, and customer needs are met with tact and diplomacy, contributing to an outstanding student experience.

• Experience working in a service environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with all stakeholders.
• Clear customer focus and commitment to improving the student experience.
• Ability to address behaviour and discuss rule compliance tactfully.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer-focused assistance in library and learning spaces.
• Safeguard customers' interests by following library regulations and addressing breaches.
• Collaborate with library teams to support collection access and shelving.
• Ensure equipment and services (self-issue machines, printers, laptops) are operational and faults are reported.
