Job summary

Aspire People are seeking Learning Mentors for partnership schools in South Birmingham. This role involves guiding children through their learning and supporting teachers to achieve progression and success.

You should be a degree-qualified education professional with experience in support work or similar, able to mediate, have difficult conversations, and relate to pupils’ challenges across multiple year groups.

Responsibilities

• Support whole school groups with behaviour management.
• Mark, plan, and deliver set work as directed by teachers.
• Liaise with SLT, parents and external agencies.
• Provide patient and nurturing support to pupils across year groups.

Aspire People are looking to recruit Learning Mentors for their partnership schools in South Birmingham. Are you a degree qualified education professional who would like to take on this role guiding children through their learning and supporting the teacher to achieve progression and success? Ever worked in support work and considered working in education? Can you ne the person that can mediate, have difficult conversations and relate to any issues the children may be going through?

This role is working as a mentor for mixed ability children within all school years so experience of working with multiple age groups is necessary, the schools have high SEND averages so ultimately you must be willing to work with children who will need more support. You will also need to mark, plan, and deliver any work that is set, and this will be reflected upon pay.

The school have a great support network including their SLT, the children are welcoming and friendly, and all the children are a pleasure to work with.

As a full time, Learning mentor, the school will expect you to essentially be a permanent member of staff, so the following is expected.

• Support whole school groups/children with behaviour management.
• Patient and nurturing nature and understanding of children's behaviour
• De-escalation techniques
• Liaise with SLT, parents and external agencies
