Job summary

Frome College is seeking a Learning Mentor to join the Pastoral team. Monday–Friday 8:30am–3:15pm, term-time plus inset days, to be the first point of contact for students and parents, delivering targeted interventions and supporting classroom strategies.

The role includes administrative duties, maintaining intervention and attendance records, and managing the pastoral detention system; training will be provided, with strong communication, patience, and accuracy essential.

Qualifications

• Confident communicating with students, parents/carers and staff.
• Comfortable with administrative systems and accurate record-keeping.
• Able to remain calm and consistent when managing behaviour.
• A team player, able to work closely with SEND, Inclusion and Pastoral colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver targeted interventions, individually and in small groups.
• Support strategies in the classroom and in the Refocus Room.
• Maintain accurate intervention and attendance records and administer pastoral detention system.
