Job summary

Frome Community College is seeking a Learning Mentor to join our Pastoral team, delivering targeted interventions and supporting students in the classroom and Refocus Room, with a focus on pastoral and administrative duties.

Working 31.25 hours per week during term time plus inset days, you will maintain accurate records, communicate with parents and carers, and contribute to a supportive school environment. Start date ASAP; permanent appointment.

• Excellent organisational ability with attention to detail and record-keeping.
• Ability to work as part of a pastoral team and support a range of interventions.

Wehave an exciting opportunity for a Learning Mentor to join our Pastoralteam working Monday – Friday 8:30am – 3:15pm. Learning Mentors are the firstpoint of contact for students in responding to a range of pastoral, academicand general administrative enquiries and are a key contact point for parentsand carers.

Thesuccessful candidate will plan and deliver targeted interventions, bothindividually and in small groups, supporting strategies in the classroom and inour Refocus Room. The role also carriesa strong administrative element, including maintaining accurate interventionand attendance records and administering our pastoral detention system.

Candidatesshould have expertise and enthusiasm for supporting young people, alongsidestrong organisational and administrative skills. Full training will be given to support thesuccessful candidate in delivering interventions effectively. Strong communication skills, patience,empathy and accuracy in record-keeping will all be vital for this role.
