Job summary

The Federation of Shepeau Stow Primary School and Gedney Hill Church of England Primary School is seeking a Learning Mentor to provide support for children across two schools. The role is 25 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs and liaising with families to promote positive outcomes.

The successful candidate will have classroom experience, be ELSA trained, and demonstrate empathy, patience and effective communication to help children thrive within

Qualifications

• Experience working in a classroom setting.
• ELSA trained.
• Experience supporting children with SEND/SEMH.
• Ability to promote development with a nurturing approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to children in and out of the classroom.
• Assist with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Liaise with parents and external agencies as appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with the teacher and wider school team to improve outcomes.

Overview of the role of a LearningMentor:

• Providingsupport to children in and out of the classroom.
• Assistingwith a range of SEMH and Behavioural needs.
• Providingchildren with the care and compassion they need to thrive in school.
• Liaisingwith parents and external agencies where suitable.
• Workingcollaboratively with the teacher and the wider school team to improve outcomesfor children.

Experience of working with SEND with SEMH needs is essential.
