Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking a Learning Mentor for a primary school in Brent from October 2026. You will support pupils across EYFS to KS2, providing 1:1 and small-group guidance to overcome learning barriers and support wellbeing.

This role suits a psychology graduate or someone with an interest in social care, offering the chance to work with teachers and pastoral teams to create a calm, inclusive learning environment and help pupils build confidence.

Qualifications

• Psychology graduate or someone with an interest in social care.
• Experience in schools, childcare, youth work or mentoring is desirable, not essential.
• Good general knowledge in English and Maths to support pupils confidently.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small:group support for pupils with challenging homelives and SEMH
• Build strong, trusting relationships to support confidence, motivation and positive behaviour
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, pastoral teams and social workers to deliver targeted support
• Contribute to a calm, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
• Adapt flexibly to the needs of the pupils and the school day

KS1 and KS2 Learning Mentor : Primary School : Brent

Are you passionate about helping children grow academically, socially and emotionally?

We are looking for a warm, committed and enthusiastic Learning Mentor to join our friendly primary school team from October 2026, supporting pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with children, enjoys being a positive role model, and is keen to make a real difference every day.

About This Learning Mentor Role

As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who need extra guidance to help them overcome barriers to learning. You will support their emotional wellbeing, encourage positive behaviour, and help them build confidence and resilience so they can achieve their best. This role would be particularly suited to a psychology graduate or someone interested in social care.

Key Responsibilities of a Learning Mentor

What Were Looking For

A proactive, reliable and compassionate learning mentor who genuinely enjoys working with children

Patience, emotional maturity and the ability to remain calm under pressure

• Common sense and a working knowledge of safeguarding

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships quickly

Experience in schools, childcare, youth work or mentoring (desirable, not essential)

Good general knowledge in English and Maths to support pupils confidently
