Job summary

Lady Royd Primary School in Bradford is seeking a Learning Mentor to support pupils with social, emotional, and attendance challenges. You will provide one-to-one mentoring, targeted interventions and help pupils develop confidence and resilience to engage in school life.

You will work with parents, staff and external agencies to identify barriers to learning, promote wellbeing and safeguarding, and contribute to a supportive, inclusive school community focused on every child's potential.

About this Role

Lady Royd Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and highly motivated Learning Mentor to join our pastoral team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and families, promoting wellbeing, and ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who may be experiencing emotional, social, behavioural or attendance-related challenges. Through one-to-one mentoring, targeted interventions and positive relationship building, you will help children develop confidence, resilience and the skills needed to engage successfully in school life.

The role involves working collaboratively with parents, carers, teaching staff and external agencies to identify and overcome barriers to learning. You will support attendance improvement strategies, contribute to family support plans, promote positive mental health and wellbeing, and play a key role in safeguarding and pastoral care across the school.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, experience of working with children and families, and the ability to build strong, professional relationships based on trust and respect. The successful candidate will be organised, resilient and committed to helping every child achieve their full potential.
