Job summary

Medeshamstede Academy is seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to support teachers and help pupils engage more effectively with their learning. The role includes covering PPA across the academy and working with individuals and small groups to raise achievement.

The successful candidate will work within a supportive environment, demonstrate strong communication, and contribute to a positive school culture focused on safeguarding and high expectations.

Qualifications

• Has experience of working with children with ASD.
• Can act as a role model, challenge and motivate, promote and reinforce self-esteem and establish productive working relationships with pupils.
• Has high expectations of and can act in accordance with Trust policies and procedures and relevant legislation, particularly in relation to child protection and behaviour management.
• Is able to demonstrate a range of behaviour management strategies.
• Has the ability to engage constructively with and relate to a wide range of young people from different backgrounds.
• Possesses excellent communication skills, at all levels and is very well organised.
• Is motivated, independent and has high expectations of themselves, always striving for the best.

Responsibilities

• Support Teachers to ensure that pupils engage more effectively with their learning and help raise achievement.
