Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting for a Learning Mentor to join a supportive Primary School in Nottingham on a long-term basis starting in September. The role focuses on mentoring and supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning and to build confidence, resilience and positive attitudes toward school.

The ideal candidate will have recent experience with children or young people and a calm, patient, and approachable manner, with strong communication and relationship-building skills.

• Recent experience working with children or young people.
• Experience in education, mentoring, youth work, pastoral support or SEND is desirable.
• Understanding of social, emotional and behavioural needs.

Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one and small group mentoring support
• Helping pupils overcome barriers to learning and engagement
• Supporting pupils with confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing
• Developing positive and trusted relationships with pupils
• Supporting children with social, emotional and behavioural needs
• Delivering targeted activities and interventions
• Working alongside teachers, the SENCO and wider school team

This role would suit someone with experience in education, youth work, mentoring, pastoral support or SEND who is passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one and small group mentoring support

• Supporting pupils with confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing
