Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a Learning Mentor to join a Primary School in Liverpool, starting in September. This role is ideal for both new and experienced educators and emphasizes inclusion and wellbeing within an active school community in the L12 area.

You will build relationships with students, provide mentoring and pastoral support, and assist pupils in KS1 or KS2 to access learning, while helping develop emotional regulation and resilience alongside teaching staff.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or young adults in an educational, nursery, social care, community, or volunteer role or similar in the last 12 months.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, professional and resilient in challenging situations.
  • Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive, trusting and professional relationships with students.
  • Provide mentoring and pastoral support to individuals and small groups.
  • Support children in either KS1 or KS2 classes to access learning and achieve their educational targets.
  • Help students develop emotional regulation, resilience, self-esteem and positive coping strategies.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to manage behaviour positively and consistently.
  • Support students during lessons, transitions, breaktimes and enrichment activities as required.
