Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Learning Mentor for a welcoming secondary school in North Shields. This full-time role starts in September and offers long-term opportunities with PAYE pay of £92.63–£115.00 per day.

You will work with students one-to-one and in small groups, supporting inclusion, achievement and personal development. A genuine passion for helping young people is essential, with strong communication and resilience throughout the school day.

• Graduate with interest in supporting young people.
• Experience desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

The Role

As a Learning Mentor, you will:

• Support students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people.
• Help students overcome academic, social and emotional barriers to learning.
• Deliver targeted interventions focused on confidence, engagement and attendance.
• Support students with SEND, SEMH needs, Autism (ASC) and ADHD.
• Encourage positive behaviour and attitudes towards learning.
• Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and parents/carers.
• Act as a positive role model throughout the school day.
• Every day presents an opportunity to help students develop the skills, resilience and confidence needed for future success.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
